Prof. Xiaosen Liu is currently an Associate Professor in the School of Integrated Circuits at Tsinghua University. He received B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Southeast University, China, in 2008, M.Phil. degree supervised by Prof. Kevin Chen (IEEE Fellow) from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong, in 2011 and Ph.D. degree supervised by Prof. Edgar Sanchez-Sinencio (IEEE Life Fellow) from Texas A&M University, College Station, in 2016. From 2016 to 2022, he worked at the Circuit Research Lab (CRL) of Intel Labs, Oregon, USA as a staff scientist, after which he joined Tsinghua University in 2022. His current research interests include power management, integrated circuits, III-V semiconductor PMIC and electronic design automation. He received many awards including Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-Financed Students Abroad, IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society (SSCS) Predoctoral Achievement Award, four-time winner of the Intel Divisional Recognition Awards for the technology achievements, etc. He drove the research in Intel CRL for analog & mixed-signal research, including power management architectures for emerging SoCs, advanced EDA in sub-10-nm CMOS technology, integrated power solution for hardware security. His research promoted many Intel’s product lines including Core™ and Xeon® series processor, PCH chipset, XMM™ 5G Modem, and AES hardware in x86 Arch. He also invented the next-gen Sonicision™ electrosurgical ultrasonic scalpel and proposed the monolithic energy harvesting architecture for IoT. He has been PI/co-PI of several research projects funded by NSF, DARPA, Intel, Medtronic, Texas Instruments, etc. He has published more than 40 articles in top journals and conferences such as ISSCC, IEDM, VLSI, JSSC, TIE and more than 30 U.S. patents. He serves as technical/organizing member for IEEE DAC, ISCAS, etc. and liaison for Semiconductor Research Corporation (SRC).
