The Advanced Innovation Center for Integrated Circuits was founded in Beijing on February 19, 2022. Approved by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, the center was founded by Tsinghua University and Peking University. We also work with important organizations in the integrated circuit industry in Beijing to carry out in-depth cooperation. The center represents an important measure taken by the city to support national strategic needs, deepen research system reforms, and build a technology innovation hub for integrated circuits.
Supported by more than 100 outstanding staff from different departments at Tsinghua, we have built a research-based engineering team of 80 members, achieving a number of interdisciplinary innovative breakthroughs in areas from the forefront of basic research o applied research. We have also explored a new model for the commercialization of original core technologies developed by universities. Using this model, we have incubated more than ten high-tech chip-related companies in Beijing, with an estimated value totaling over 15 billion CNY, contributing to Beijing's structural transformation into a high-tech economy.
